ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Under the direction of the Technical Services Administrator, executes daily activities to include: maintaining Information Technology (IT) systems and functions of the Sheriff's Office. Assist with the coordination of all aspects of IT to support the Department's mission.
- Performs daily operation of mini-computers, tablets, workstation computers, cameras, and phones, including peripheral equipment.
- Assists with printing periodic and annual data and all other related tasks, with the appropriate department heads and other officials relying on the computer to generate work products.
- Assists with maintenance of County personal computers, networks, body cameras, vehicle cameras, building cameras, radios, both portable and mobile, and all vehicle-mounted technology systems.
- Creates and maintains a log for all personal computers that shows specifications for the computer, its operating system, and the application programs it contains.
- Creates and maintains a log for all issued technology assets, including body-worn cameras, radios, and computers.
- Installs approved software on County personal computers and ensures that all additional hardware and software are operating correctly.
- Configure cameras (Body-worn and Vehicle-mounted), cellular routers, and Mobile Data Terminals.
- Troubleshoot Sheriff's Office technology assets (cameras, radios, computers, and routers) and recommend repairing or replacing defective equipment.
- Orders supplies relating to data processing, networking, and computer equipment for the LCSO.
- Assists in scheduling maintenance for computer equipment.
- Provides information and training to County employees on the operation of computer equipment as feasible. The LCSO Technician will attend schools and conferences, as approved, to update information and skills.
- Will be required to work irregular hours, attend job-related meetings, and perform all duties with minimal supervision.
- Manage and troubleshoot the LCSO's Records Management System and Mobile FLEX system, including troubleshooting client-side issues, adding users, configuring and modifying permissions dependent on roles and resources, and server-side issues related to the system.
- Manage and support printers within the LCSO complex. This includes personal printers in offices, common printers within common areas, and integrated copier printers, scanners, fax machines, and print servers.
- Provide support for NCIC software. Maintenance of this software is critical for records and deputies when they need to run individuals in the line of their work. This includes troubleshooting and working with the state IT department to solve issues when they arise regarding the supplemental software needed to run the program and its ability to print reports.
- Oversee network switches and cabling to ensure the LCCA and the Lea County EOC have all the necessary resources to complete their public safety duties.
- Oversee and configure the Mitel phone system and pc related interfaces located in the LCSO.
- The technician will also work with external contractors when on the premises to provide information and help them identify, troubleshoot, or simply provide property/systems-specific information so they can better resolve the issue they are on the premises to repair, add, or modify. This includes the generator and building UPS systems specifically since they impact the availability of the network and computer resources.
- The technician's duties are not limited to those set forth above. The employee will perform such functions, duties, or assignments as given by a supervisor consistent with ability, background, and expertise.

- May perform or assist with daily operations of mini-computers, personal computers, and peripheral equipment. May assist with daily computer activities such as bringing systems up, printing reports, delivering reports, troubleshooting, taking systems down, locating and overcoming error conditions, running backup tapes for mini-computers, and maintaining equipment.
- May perform or assist with printing periodic and annual data and all other related tasks with the appropriate staff and elected official(s).
- Recommends changes in programs, routines, quality control standards, and IT systems. Is responsible for all areas of transition when changing/updating systems.
- Coordinates the ordering of supplies related to IT; coordinates and schedules maintenance for IT equipment.
- Develops and maintains an operation manual for IT equipment, systems, and functions.
- Provides information and training to County employees on operations of IT equipment as feasible. Will attend schools and conferences, as approved, to update information and skills.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred.
- Any combination of advanced training and practical experience in Information Technology systems and operations totaling four years, with a minimum of two years of practical experience with complex systems and projects.

Certification, Skills, and Licenses:
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing in English.
- A certificate or diploma in an IT-related field is preferred.
- Knowledge of systems development life cycles.

- Ability to articulate strategy and timelines to reach objectives.
- Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
